08 Oct The Compelling Christian Case for Trump
I am well aware that there are many – both Christians and non-Christians alike – who will take significant exception to the title of this blog. And for those, I want to begin by saying that I agree with you that President Trump is a deeply and unnecessarily polarizing figure with serious personal and political flaws.
In fact, for the first three years of his presidency, I would not say the words, “President Trump,” because I felt that saying those two words together dishonored the office of the President. However, four years have changed my view and I now consider that, in spite of all the readily apparent negatives of President Trump, the positives – on the whole – outweigh the negatives.
I know that many of my readers are fellow Trump supporters. But I hope that all of you, including potential Never-Trumpers, will afford me the honor of listening carefully as I outline (in a free eBook I’ve written for you) why I believe a Christian not only can vote for Trump without sacrificing personal integrity and reputation, but should vote for Trump, for the sake of our country, the world, and for the sake of the Great Commission.
In the eBook, The Compelling Christian Case for Trump, I took some of the information I wrote in the last nine blogs, added new information I’ve researched since writing those blogs, and put it all together in one document to make it easy for you to read all in one place, and easy for you to send to others.
I believe that we are at a crossroads in our country, and that this election will determine whether or not the United States is able to continue as the country many of us have known and loved or whether we will be transformed into a socialist shadow of ourselves, with eventual loss of freedom to live out our Christian faith.
I urge you to get the eBook, read it, and send it to as many people as you can to try to encourage others not only to vote in November, but to vote for those candidates, including Trump, who will stand for the biblical values of life and religious freedom, for the best hope for our Great Country as well as the Great Commission.
