26 Dec Happy New Year
It is our prayer that 2024 will be a “Happy New Year!”
The only way that will be true is if we put our relationship with the Lord at the top of our priority list for 2024. Life may or may not be kind to us, or easy on us this coming year. But if we make our walk with the Lord our highest priority, it can be our best year yet.
Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good, to those who love God to those who are called according to His purpose.”
Not all things are good but all things work together for good. That is, God will take everything that happens in our lives and use them for good purposes, bringing good out of them. Even (especially?) the hard things. As James said, “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing” (James 1:2-4).
Next year, let’s trust His plan and work in our lives, that He will make us more like Jesus, and as a result, experience the growing love, joy and peace that will be ours as we do (Galatians 5:22).
That’s what we mean when we say,
“Happy New Year!”
